This weekend we’re looking to get the work done needed to get done in order to make the track raceable.
Hubert’s got everything in place, but now the work of grooming and smoothing takes place. This will be a big weekend. Check back — probably easiest on Facebook — to coordinate times, but mostly if you’ve got some, we could use the help.
And thanks!

Ace track builder Hubert Jackon should have the track “built,” as in all the bump and turns in place, by this afternoon. We’ve got some work between then a rideable, leave alone raceable, but it’s on the way.
We’re going with a kind of hybrid U-in-a-U shape. Over $7,000 was spent on red clay dirt (which Hubert really dug — no pun intended) so this will have a really nice surface when it’s done.
This is going to be great

Hubert Jackson’s on the tractor right now, tearing down the old stuff (that Greg and Ted didn’t tear down last night) and putting in the new. We’ve got a bunch of fresh red-clay dirt to go back with, and it is coming together. YeeeHaaaaw!

Dirt’s being delivered this week, and the track builder’s in this weekend.
Just as a note:
The minute he gets off the tractor doesn’t mean the track”s ready to ride. The dirt has to dry out, first of all, but then there’s all the tuning & etc which goes into this sort of thing. We’re kinda’ hoping we’ll be riding it within two weeks after completion, but don’t set your watch by that one.
We’re really excited about this, the first rebuild in years.

If all the buttons have been pressed, new updates to the blog will go to the Facebook wall.
Let’s see if that happens!

The good news: Dirt’s on order, track builder’s on the way, and by mid-June we should have a whole new Bonzai.
The bad news: Between now and that time, Bonzai is closed for construction, until, again, about mid-June (ish).
We’ll keep you posted, track phone if nothing else.
